About the map

The bike safety map is a community-driven tool designed to highlight areas where cyclists feel uneasy about their bike’s security.

It focuses on:

  • General theft concerns: Worries when locking up or parking.
  • Bike-jacking risks: Places where people feel vulnerable to bike-jacking (mugged/robbed).

This map reflects real-world views based on contributions from the cycling community. It’s designed to be very simple and intuitive.

Please note: This is not a crime reporting tool and is not linked to the police or data sources. The map is currently experimental, which means it might be removed or changed without notice, and relies on user input for accuracy. It’s provided for general information only. Cyclists should always use their own judgement when parking or riding in any location and always report crimes to the police.
